Travis Barker shares Taylor Hawkins tribute tattoo

Travis Barker has gotten a new tattoo in homage to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins – see below.

Drummer Blink-182 took to Instagram last night (April 14) to share a collection of images from Mark Mahoney’s Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlor on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

Barker – accompanied by his fiancé Kourtney Kardashian – was spotted having an eagle design detail inked on the front side of his ankle by a celebrity tattoo artist.

“HAWK forever,” he wrote in the caption, paying homage to Hawkins. The final image in the series shows Barker and drummer Foo Fighters backstage together in their early years.

Hawkins died on March 25 at the age of 50. The band announced the news in a statement on social media; no cause of death was given.

Barker, who has long been friends with drummer Foos, was among those who paid their respects upon hearing the news of his death.

“I have no words,” Barker wrote on Instagram. “Sad to write this or never see you again. I’ll never forget the Laguna Beach days when I was a trashman playing in a punk rock band and you playing with Alanis [Morissette]. You’ll come watch me play at the bar and say, ‘Son, you’re a star.’ And I thought you were crazy but you gave me so much hope and determination.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Grammys commemorated Hawkins with special honors at a Las Vegas ceremony earlier this month.

“This is the moment in the show when I should have introduced the Foo Fighters,” host Trevor Noah explained during the ceremony. “We’re going to celebrate with them as they won three previous Grammy awards today.

“But they are, of course, not here because of the passing of their legendary drummer Taylor Hawkins. Our thoughts go out to the Taylor family, his friends, the Foo Fighter family and all their fans around the world. We want to take a moment to remember Taylor.”

Audiences at home and watching on TV were then shown a montage of footage of Hawkins performing and backstage, with the Foo Fighters song ‘My Hero’ as the soundtrack. The larger In Memoriam segment followed, given that more music stars have been missing from the last 12 months.
