Kardashian Family appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday for Blac Chyna’s long-awaited trial against the famous family, who kept the fireworks off with day two of jury selection, even before opening arguments began.

Blac Chynaa model and influencer whose real name is Angela White, previously engaged to Rob Kardashian with whom he shares a five year old daughter. The couple starred in their own E! reality shows together, Rob & Chynawhich aired for one season in 2016.

The second season was filming when the two broke up, but it was canceled and never aired.

Chyna sued the family for $100 million (approximately $135 million), claiming they ruined her reality TV career.

The case revolves around Chyna’s 2017 lawsuit, alleging that her ex-fiancé, Rob, was abusive and that the Kardashian-Jenners were responsible for canceling the ex-couple’s short show.

Chyna sues the whole family — Rob Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner and his sister Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — for claims of defamation, assault, battery, domestic violence and interference with prospective economic relationships.

That same year, the family responded to the claims with their own lawsuit, alleging that Chyna had assaulted Rob.

Kris, Kim, Khloé and Kylie, all defendants in the case, sat down together on Monday as the trial began at the Los Angeles Superior Court Building, even though Rob was not present on the first day of jury selection.

Kris, Kim, Khloé and Kylie were expected to testify, but their performance in the jury selection came as a surprise. Chyna was accompanied by her mother Tokyo Toni and lawyer Lynne Ciani, who said her client would be present for the entire trial, which is expected to last around 10 days.

During jury selection, the panel was asked about their awareness of the star defendants and plaintiffs, in order to exclude any biased individuals from the group. A courtroom source said that of the more than 70 jurors, five made negative comments about Kardashian-Jenner family, and many more who made negative statements about Chyna.

When asked about the Kardashians, one man replied, “Anything to do with their name is no big deal to me,” according to United States of America Todaywho also reported courtroom family support with a young woman said, “I’m a huge Kardashians fan, so I don’t think I’ll be able to make an impartial judgment.”

Other prospective jurors, per TMZsuggested they could not be impartial, stating in court, “I’ve seen the Kardashian sex tapes.”

In addition to the Kardashians and Jenners who are expected to take a stand, Ryan Seacrest — who is executive producer at Rob & Chyna — is also on the witness list, but may testify via video deposition because he is now a resident of New York state.

He accused the family of “ruining” his reality TV career and demanded damages.

Chyna is seeking more than US$40 million (approximately US$54 million) for lost income damages and more than US$60 million (AUD$81 million) for damages to future revenue capacity, according to court filings.

Earlier this month, Kardashian-Jenner’s defense attorney, Michael G. Rhodes, told a judge that Chyna had rejected the settlement offer.

Ahead of the trial, Chyna’s lawyer said in a statement that her client was “grateful” to be able to prove to the jury that the four defendants “abused their power” to cancel her show. “Chyna went from being a star on the number one hit show E! for US$92,500 (approximately $125,368) per episode to not being fully aired,” the lawyer added.

The defendants’ illegal behavior not only cost Chyna millions and millions of dollars, their actions emotionally destroyed her. Kris Jenner is like a second mother to Chyna and Kim has been her BFF for years. The betrayal and extreme humiliation Chyna felt after discovering the truth about what the defendants did to him lingers to this day.”

Variation have contacted lawyers on both sides for additional comment.

In her 2017 lawsuit, Chyna said her reality show with her ex was already in its second season, but claimed the family purposely set an ax on the series to piss her off. “Rob Kardashian was the perpetrator intent on destroying Angela White, the mother of his baby, who abandoned him in 2016,” the lawsuit says.

“In revenge, the Kardashian-Jenner family became media predators, humiliating her on social media and killing her hit television show, which had already started shooting its second season.”

In 2016, amidst the couple’s “revenge porn” feud where Rob’s social media accounts were shut down when he posted pornographic images that had been exchanged between him and Chyna, E! notified Variation that their series, Rob & Chyna had been removed from the network’s schedule prior to the fallout of real-life romances that played out in the tabloid media.

“While filming at Keeping up with the Kardashians has taken place, spin-off Rob & Chyna hasn’t been in production for a few months and the series isn’t currently on E! schedule,” said a spokesperson for E! exclusively Variation at the time.

After the first day of the trial, Chyna’s mother, Tokyo Toni, took to her Instagram to rant full of obscenities about the Kardashians, while she appeared to be blunt.

“This is going to be crazy. I don’t care,” Chyna’s mother said in a social media video, criticizing all the Kardashian women, but specifically calling out Kylie’s name and saying Kris looked “decrepit” in the courtroom.

On Tuesday morning in court, the Kardashians’ attorney brought the video to the judge’s attention, alleging that Chyna’s mother had made threatening comments, according to TMZ, which reported that the judge barred her from returning to the courtroom during the trial. .

Chyna’s “revenge porn” claims against Rob Kardashian are due to stand trial following an ongoing defamation trial.
