Quality vs Quantity

Just because Multiverse of Madness does not have the megalithic execution time of some of the MCU siblings, does not mean it will be less movie.

The only reason this is shocking is because these previous reports were almost half an hour longer than they are. When these titles started to break, it made a lot of sense to the fans. With the franchise coming from another Multiversal epic Spider-Man: No Way Home, many have assumed this Doctor Strange The sequel would come at a similar time.

Both films deal with a similar issue of reality, so it would make sense to have very comparable run times. Just looking at the narration device that is the Marvel Multiverse, extra time must be devoted to the audience to understand the rules and consequences of this Multiverse. Just think how much time was devoted to ensuring that the public had internalized the rules of time travel Avengers: Endgame.

Not to mention Multiverse of Madness the team will not be able to do this with this runtime. 2 hours and 6 minutes is still a long time. It just has to be done faster than we initially thought.

However, it is interesting to note that this is exactly the length that sets the tape up compared to other MCU tapes. This is the shortest project of Marvel Studios since 2019 Captain Marvelputting it at about the same execution time as Spider-Man: Far from Home, Iron Man 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

These are all movies that successfully tell a Marvel story in just over 2 hours, but none of them had the weight to do it through Multiverse.
