The Block 2022: Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull OUT of the show three days after filming

Influencer Elle Ferguson and her retired AFL star fiancé Joel Patfull have left The Block’s 2022 season just three days after filming.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the couple made the difficult decision to leave after Joel’s mother, Trish, broke her neck in a fall at her Adelaide home.

The publication reported that Trish could potentially also break her tailbone and fracture her wrist.

While they haven’t officially discussed their exit, Elle, 36, shared a photo of the couple’s suitcase at Melbourne Airport on Monday with the caption: ‘Wherever you are in the world, whatever you do, family always comes first.’

She also shared a black-and-white image of her partner Joel, 37, sitting with their luggage, as they prepared to catch a flight to Adelaide.

A Channel Nine spokesperson confirmed the couple’s exit to Daily Mail Australia, saying: ‘Over the weekend, we were surprised to have one of our new team of contestants leave The Block a few days to shoot for the upcoming season.

The new season of The Block is being filmed in the Macedon Ranges, a 40-minute drive from Melbourne.

After years of remodeling the city, the producers have opted for a ‘tree change’ by having a team remodel a house in rural Victoria.

Now, each team will build a house on 10 hectares of land.

‘This is the opportunity of a lifetime to build a house on 10 acres. Who can do that?’ Block host Scott Cam recently said.

‘The number of items you can put in those 10 acres! I mean, gosh, if you have enough money, you can build a tennis court, you can make a big swimming pool, you can build a pond, you can put up a chicken coop, you can put a vegetable garden and a kitchen garden. Who knows?’
