Rihanna, ASAP Rocky split rumors ask fashion writers to apologize

A writer has issued a public apology after reporting that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had split due to extramarital affairs, as the couple prepared to welcome their first child.

Fashion writer Louis Pisano has issued a public apology for starting rumors that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are splitting up due to an affair.

The social media influencer, who uses the pronouns they/they, claims the pair – who are expecting their first child – “split” after the rapper “caught cheating” on the pregnant singer with shoe designer Amina Muaddi, the NY Post reports.

“Last night I made the stupid decision to tweet some of the information I received,” Pisano tweeted.

They added: “I’m not going to talk about the source, blaming someone else for the discussion it started, etc because in the end I made the decision to draft the tweet, hit send and put it out with my name on it.

“I want to formally apologize (sic) to all those involved with my actions and for my careless tweets,” they added.

“I have no excuse for that, I’ve been too busy with Twitter drama and sadly tend to fall apart as a brand which is something I’ll be leaving behind.”

It came after factory rumors were sent into overdrive last week when Pisano wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “Rihanna broke up with [ASAP] after he caught her having an affair with shoe designer Amina Muaddi.”

Since the allegations came to light, Muaddi, the shoe designer behind the Fenty 2020 collection, has denounced the allegations as “baseless lies.”

Muaddi issued a statement on his Instagram Story on Friday denying any involvement with Rocky.

“I have always believed that the baseless lies that are spread on social media do not deserve any response or clarification, especially the very heinous ones,” he said. “I initially assumed that this false gossip – created with such malicious intent – would not be taken seriously.

“But in the last 24 hours I have been reminded that we live in a society where conversations are fast on topics regardless of factual basis and nothing is off limits.

“Not even at what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times of one’s life,” Muaddi continued, apparently referring to Rihanna’s pregnancy.

The designer ended her statement by wishing her a “wonderful Easter weekend” as Rihanna continues to “live her quiet, best-dressed pregnancy life.”

Representatives for Rocky and Rihanna did not comment.
