Renée Zellweger has hinted that she is ready for another one Bridget Jones film, admits he hopes to return to the character position.
The actress stars in a trilogy of films based on Helen Fielding’s hilarious novels about an unlucky single person looking for the man of her dreams – featuring the man of many dreams, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, and McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey.
She calls Bridget “so fun” and she loves the character, so it’s likely that she’ll have an update on how baby William is doing.
“I like being in his position,” Zellweger said People. “I mean, it makes me giggle, you know, every day on set the choices we make about how awkward we make things up. It’s so much fun.”
As many of us have cried laughing at some of Bridget’s most embarrassing moments, the actress says it’s one of the many reasons she loves him so much.
“I found him very charming, his determination self-deprecating. I loved him. And I think it’s very rare to follow a character through the various stages in his life.”
He added: “And in a way we thought she was acceptable, because she paralleled our life experiences at the time. Yes, I hope so. I mean, Helen did write another book, so there you have it.”
This isn’t the first time Zellweger has admitted he wants a follow-up from 2016 Bridget Jones Baby, and even offers title suggestions.
“Bridget Jones: Menopause” he said jokingly Talks. “No, I know Helen wrote that book, and I love this character. So, I mean, if they call me, I’ll run.”
Sounds promising, so hopefully the power in it will continue and we can see what he does years later.
