Princess Eugenie is reported to have played a key role in reuniting the Sussexes and other members of the royal family during a significant trip to Windsor.
Analyzing Meghan and Harry’s recent visit to Windsor, royal expert Richard Kay noted the trip was important to the couple’s ‘long-term status’ in the family.
However, the insider who helped push and support the return of the Sussexes was none other than Prince Andrew’s daughter and Harry’s best friend, Princess Eugenie.
“This was not a last minute visit and should take into account the Queen’s recent health attacks, including contracting Covid in February,” Richard began.
“It was also the first time Meghan saw her in-laws since March 2020. Interestingly, it involved the fifth member of the Royal Family who was not present at both meetings – Princess Eugenie,” he said.
Princess Eugenie currently lives at Frogmore Cottage, Harry and Meghan’s former home. This suggests that the couple spent the night at their cousin’s house before meeting the Queen.
“The daughter, who is temporarily staying at her cousin’s Frogmore Cottage with husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August, is thought to have played an ‘encouraging’ role behind the scenes.
“He is Harry’s closest royal ally – he and Jack visited Sussex in California earlier this year – and is also close to the Queen.”
