Prince Harry says Queen was in ‘great shape’ when he and Meghan visited

Prince Harry has given a lengthy television interview while in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, talking about his relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, fatherhood and his life with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in the US.

Speaking to Hoda Kotb of US broadcaster NBC, the Duke of Sussex spoke about his recent visit with the Queen in England.

It was the first time he had seen his grandmother, the Queen, in person since he was in London for the unveiling of a statue of his mother, Diana, last July.

“Being able to see it in some elements of privacy is nice,” said Prince Harry.

“It’s great to see him. You know, he’s in really good shape.

“He always had a great sense of humor with me and I just made sure he was protected and had the right people around him.”

When asked if he would return to the UK to celebrate the Queen’s platinum birthday later this year, Prince Harry said he didn’t know yet.

“There’s a lot of stuff with security issues and whatnot,” he said.

“So this is what I’m trying to do, trying to get my kids to meet him.”
