US actress Natasha Lyonne has confirmed her split from actor Fred Armisen, claiming that the relationship ended due to a dispute over the pool.
After confirming to Hollywood Reporter that she was living in Los Angeles with Armisen during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian Doll star revealed that they had broken up.
“I honestly thought we broke up because I wanted a swimming pool,” said Lyonne, 43.
“We love each other as much as two people can love each other and we still talk all the time, but Freddy doesn’t like swimming pools.
“This may seem like a common excuse to break up, but during that pandemic, you have to get your spin – I was like Burt Lancaster in Swimmer.”
Lyonne has since bought her own home – with a pool – in Los Angeles.
“So that’s a real scandal.” Orange Is The New Black alum jokingly added. “I think I’ve finally become a real bicoastal.”
Lyonne and the Live Saturday Night The 55-year-old stars initially hooked up with each other in 2014 when they attended Lorne Michael’s pre-Emmy party at the Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
In September 2019 Captivating cover story, Lyonne revealed that Armisen’s SNL his partner, Maya Rudolph, introduced the couple.
During a June 2016 appearance on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast, Armisen admitted to being a “bad husband” to his ex-wife, The Maid’s Story star Elisabeth Moss from 2009 to 2011. He was also married to singer Sally Timms from 1998 to 2004.
Lyonne and Armisen were last seen together at the 2020 Golden Globes.
