Natalie Portman has left fans in awe with her ripped physique as she returns to the Thor franchise after nearly a decade.

The actress’ return as Jane Foster in the Thor: Love And Thunder trailer was highly anticipated, but it was her muscular arms that caught fans’ attention.

The Black Swan star, 40, makes a dramatic entrance in the trailer as Thor’s iconic hammer, called Mjölnir, is seen sliding into the hands of Jane, Thor’s romantic attraction, played by Chris Hemsworth.

Thor, who was engaged in battle at the time, stood in complete disbelief as he stared in awe at the new superhero, who was standing in a fighting pose with a hammer in one hand.

But as fans watched the tense moment, they couldn’t help but notice the dramatic change in Natalie’s appearance as she looked more muscular in the clip than her last performance as Jane was in 2013.

Viewers were quick to share their shock on social media, with many Twitter users comparing her new look to her sci-fi role as Padmé Amidala in Star Wars.

One person wrote: ‘Natalie Portman’s Swole has the potential to be one of the greatest things ever.’

Despite his eye-catching physique, his return has been long-awaited as he hasn’t starred in a film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – other than a brief appearance in Avengers: Endgame 2019 – since Thor: The Dark World in 2013.

Jane and Thor reconnected in Thor: The Dark World – and although Portman doesn’t appear in the film – they are said to have broken up in 2015’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Jane taking over the reigns as Mighty Thor comes at an exciting time as before in the Thor trailer saying ‘my superhero day is over’.

He then plants a magic ax called Stormbreaker into the ground as he can be heard in voiceover saying: ‘This hand was once used for battle now, it is just a simple tool for peace. I need to find out exactly who I am.’

Thor is seen meditating as the classic Guns N’ Roses Sweet Child O’ Mine starts playing.

He then appears to leave a life of fighting and save the universe and is instead shown adventuring and helping build a new Asgard.

Eventually he is approached by Star-Lord AKA Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the other Guardians Of The Galaxy: Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket ( Bradley Cooper).

Star-Lord told him: ‘Just look into the eyes of those you love.’
