Mark Hoppus says he hopes to ‘play music’ again seven months after announcing he is cancer-free

Mark Hoppus says he can’t wait to get back into his old routine.

That Blink 182 bassist, who? recently announced that she is cancer freeseen with his wife, Skye Everly, and friends as they walked out of a restaurant in West Hollywood on Saturday night.

In a short interview with TMZ photographer, Hoppus seems optimistic about his future plans with making music.

“Life is great, I’m happy to be here,” he said. “I just got back into it.”

“I most want to go back to the studio and get back to playing music, and get off my couch,” he added, noting his band “hopefully” releases new music soon.

The photographer then asked what Hoppus, 50, thought of his bandmates Travis Barkernew bride, Kourtney Kardashian.

“Do you think Kourtney is a good match for Travis?” the photographer asked, to which the ‘All The Small Things’ rocker replied, “Yes, I know.”

Hoppus announced he was cancer-free in September last year while thanking his family and friends for their support.

“Just saw my oncologist and I am cancer free!! Thank you God and the universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love,” he wrote in a note.

“It still has to be scanned every six months and it will take me until the end of the year to get back to normal, but today was an amazing day and I feel very blessed.”

Hoppus first announced her cancer diagnosis on June 23, said “it sucks and I’m scared” but noted that he feels hopeful and hopes to return to tour when he is cancer-free.

“For the last three months I have had chemotherapy for cancer,” he tweeted last month. “I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with wonderful doctors and family and friends to help me get through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to stick with it. optimistic and positive.”
