Kaley Cuoco has admitted that she “cryed all night” after learning the lead role in the anticipated new film had gone to another actress.
Kaley Cuoco has been candid about the role she missed that left her heartbroken.
In an interview with Captivating magazine for April cover story, the first Big Bang Theory the star shared that she had auditioned for Knife Out 2 — and “sure” he had the role.
However, the role fell to Kate Hudson.
“But I firmly believed that my bag was packed for Greece,” Cuoco recalls. “And then I didn’t get it. I am so devastated. And I’m not (usually) devastated by roles. I have done a chemistry reading. I have done Zoom. And I do not understand. I cried and cried all night. And it went to Kate, who was great.”
The next day the actress shared that she received a phone call about her upcoming film, Meet Cute. Cuoco starring together SNL’s Pete Davidson.
“They were like, ‘We have an interesting script.’ And I said, ‘I don’t want to read anything. I suck. Nobody wants me.’ They said, ‘You should read this,’” he remembers thinking. “And Pete was tied up, and I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll read it.’” the 36-year-old said.
“And when I did, I said, ‘This is the most magical little script.’ And I’ll never get it if I (got) Knife. It just shows that you are where you need to be.
“I mean, I’m heartbroken by that. And that’s when I thought I was being fired up, like, I definitely got that. And they’re like, ‘No, we’re going with Kate.’”
Asked if he was given a reason why he didn’t get the role, Cuoco said, “No,” but admitted he thought he was “so sexy” in the lead-up to the casting decision.
“I think I’m sexy: I’ll be with Daniel Craig. This is amazing. But I couldn’t be happier with what happened. That’s what it should be, and ‘Knife’ would be great and Kate great. He should have done it, and I should have done this. And maybe I’ll audition for a third one,” Stewardess, flight attendant stars are shared.
Knife Out 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet. Cuoco will appear in season 2 Stewardess, flight attendantpremiered locally on BINGE on April 21.
