Jessica Simpson highlights the emotional hardships that have followed her nearly 100-pound weight loss journey.
Simpson has been candid about her journey in her latest interview with We Weekly.
There he claims, “I think it’s about setting small goals for yourself, and ultimately, the impossible becoming possible.”
“I am very proud of myself and I am proud of my resilience no matter what people say. … I think positive comments about [my weight loss journey] is what I hold on to and that’s the reason why I post [the Instagram photo] — for that one person to come in and feel better about themselves and work really hard.”
“Because when you work so hard to see and feel what you’re doing in a very happy time, especially with your kids, it’s so empowering and it makes me so emotional.”
Yet at the same time, “I don’t really see it as, like, a weight loss journey. I think it’s a journey of empowerment and self-love and acceptance…. That’s one of them [where] it’s, like, we all want what we can’t have. We all want a body type that we’re not [and] which we cannot change. So it’s about accepting and loving ourselves the way we are.”
For those inexperienced, the Instagram post in question features Simpson in a pink bikini with a caption praising her weight loss.
It reads, “I’ve gained and lost 3x 100lbs so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally springing into a BIKINI!!!!!! Hard work Determination of Self Love I enjoyed a good cry of pride today”.
