Harry and Meghan return to Europe for the Invictus Games

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first public appearance together in Europe since the departure of their infamous “Megxit” two years ago, unmasking for the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s last-minute arrival was met with cheers and applause on Friday.

Prince Harry wore a smart navy blue suit with a white open collared shirt while Meghan wore a crisp white Valentino suit, with a matching clutch also by the Italian luxury fashion house.

After their arrival to the game, the pair were seen hanging out with the Ukraine team at the tournament — which started in 2014 and is held annually for injured military veterans, despite having endured a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It comes after the pair reportedly met Harry’s father, Prince Charles, for just 15 minutes on Friday.

According to a source, Camilla joined the meeting midway and then went with Charles to St George’s.

Harry and his father have allegedly barely spoken in recent months after he harshly criticized Charles in a shock interview last year with Oprah Winfrey for failing to support him adequately and also accused him of cutting him off financially.

Prince Harry branded the term ‘Megxit’ – coined after he and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, stepped back from royal life – “misogynistic”.

And Charles is said to be very concerned about Harry’s memoir, due for publication later this year, which he fears will be used to settle more scores.

“He loves his son and he is heartbroken by everything that has happened, although he fears history repeats itself with Harry as it did with Princess Diana,” an old friend told The Daily Mail.

“But he also wanted to keep the door open and keep talking, something he still regrets not doing with Diana.”
