Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Star Will Poulter talked about his physical transformation for the film and said it was so extreme that “I would not recommend it [it to] anyone”.
The actor, who will play Adam Warlock in the latest film of the franchise, said in a conversation with The independent that he does not really want to promote the diet he did from Marvel to ensure that he fits the right body type.
“It’s hard to talk about it because with Marvel it’s all a secret squirrel,” he said.
“But the most important thing is that your mental and physical health should be number one and aesthetic goals should be secondary, otherwise you end up promoting something that is unhealthy and unrealistic if you do not have the financial support of a studio that pays for your meals and education.
“I am in a very privileged position in this regard and I would not recommend anyone to do what I did to prepare for this job.”
He admitted that he did a lot in the gym and went on a very specific diet, which at times was too much, revealing that it was “amounts of food that you would not necessarily want to consume”.

“I’ve been on a series of different diets in recent months. I am now in the maintenance phase, which is very nice.
“I do not eat plenty of food to spill and I do not cut. I just keep my weight.
“I’ve been through periods when I look at food and I feel like I can’t handle it, and then you blink and the next minute you’re ready to eat furniture because you’re so hungry.”
Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1 and volume 2 are available now. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special comes to Disney + later this year and beyond Guardians of the Galaxy, volume 3 arrives on May 5, 2023.
