Here’s something I never expected to hear: the upcoming movie Jurassic World: Dominion is going to present a dinosaur inspired by Batman’s enemy, the Joker. Director Colin Trevorrow provided this information while speaking to Empire – and even gave the magazine a photo of the dinosaur so they could introduce Giganotosaurus to the world. Say it briefly Giga. Giga’s picture appears at the bottom of this article.
In contrast to his great threats Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen KingdomIndominus Rex and Indoraptor, his Giganotosaurus Jurassic World: Dominion it is not a genetic hybrid, it is a type of dinosaur that existed in the Late Cretaceous. How can a dinosaur be like the Joker? Here is what Trevorrow said:
I wanted something that looked like the Joker. “He just wants to see people burn.”
Trevorrow goes on to explain that Giga is housed in the BioSyn Valley. BioSyn, the company that wanted Dennis Nedry to steal embryos in the original Jurassic Park,
got the contract to house the dinosaurs that have been captured around the world through various governments. They claim (BioSyn Valley is) a research facility where they can study the medicinal values of animals. “But there are other things that happen.”
Trevorrow, who had previously directed the first Jurassic Worlddirected this from a screenplay he wrote with Emily Carmichael, based on an idea he created with Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom co-writer Derek Connolly. An official synopsis has not yet been released, but here is what USA Today describes the plot:
When a bunch of dinosaurs relax around the world, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Deering (Bryce Dallas Howard) go on a world-famous mission to collect them before humanity falls a few points in the food chain. Back to that Jurassic The dose is authentic trilogy characters, including Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern).
The cast also includes Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Scott Haze, Campbell Scott and Dichen Lachman.
A collaboration between Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, Jurassic World: Dominion was co-produced by Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg, with Frank Marshall co-producing with Pat Crowley. Sara Scott, Universal Senior Production Vice President, oversaw the project for the studio.
Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled to hit theaters on June 10ου.
Looking forward to seeing Giganotosaurus in action?
