Comedian Pete Davidson is leaving Saturday Night Live, according to reports

Comedian Pete Davidson is reportedly one of several stars to leave Saturday Night Live, the show where he first kissed Kim Kardashian.

Pete Davidson will reportedly be leaving Saturday Night Live this week after eight years on NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show.

The website also reports that Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney will also be leaving.

The stand-up comedian first joined the show in 2014 at the age of 20 as one of the youngest cast members ever to be part of the long-running series.

He then soared to stardom with a popular guest assignment on Weekend Updatemovie roles, Netflix specials, and a string of high-profile relationships, including most recently with Kim Kardashian.

However, Davidson has hinted that he is ready to leave the show for a while.

In February 2020, he told Charlamagne Tha God that he had been “talking” about when to quit the show, but he wasn’t sure because he didn’t want to “go too early”.

Fans then speculated that Season 46 could be Davidson’s last after he told Hollywood Reporter he was ready to “hang up the jersey.”

Yeah I’m good. I’m surprised I made it to seven [seasons],” he said in May 2021.

Davidson’s emotional speech during the end of Season 46 sparked the rumors further.

“I’m so grateful to be here,” he said at the time. “It is an honor to grow up in front of you.”

In October 2021, when the current season SNL started, he confessed when Weekend Update segment, “I can’t believe I’m back.”

Report of his departure from SNL this week comes after it was revealed that he will be heading to Australia later this year to shoot a new film Witch! in Queensland.
