A place in the Ulster minor football championship is at stake when Cavan takes on Derry today.
Derry got to this stage thanks to a 2-11 to 1-09 win over Donegal in the quarter-finals but that came at a price as captain and their talisman Ryan McNicholl was forced off with a season-ending injury.
The injury came after McNicholl scored a sensational goal, and the loss of young Glenullin was a major blow to Derry.
But they will have to be inspired by the senior team going into the Ulster final themselves in what appears to be a very promising period for Derry’s football.
Their opponents, Cavan, have shown themselves to have a formidable attack.
The 13-point margin of victory over Antrim is impressive, and they will love their chances of reaching the final.
The match is scheduled for a throw-in at 17:00 and will be streamed live on the TG4 Youtube page, with their coverage starting at 16:55.
