Beast vs KGF Chapter 2 box office forecast: Trade experts say we expect a “tsunami” at the box office

The alarming drop in tickets due to the pandemic is a thing of the past thanks to movies like RRR, Sooryavanshi, Pushpa and The Kashmir Files. Cinephiles are once again crowded in theaters to watch new stories unfold on the 70mm screen. And, now with the release of Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 and Vijay’s Beast, wait for a “tsunami” at the ticket counters. Film trade experts are confident that the films will set new ticket records.

Speaking about the pre-booking of KGF 2, movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh told, “KGF 2 is about to open like a tsunami. The advance bookings were amazing. RRR has already beaten pre-booking. By far, KGF 2 has received the highest bookings since the pandemic, but still competes with pre-pandemic bookings.

Taran also said that in addition to the pre-booking, the booking for KGF 2 will be “extremely high”. He said Prashanth Neel’s directing will cut the moolah from Thursday and will only increase further over the weekend.

While KGF 2 shows an upward trend in advance bookings, Vijay’s Beast is not far behind. Film industry watchdog Ajay Srinivasan said the booking for the thriller in Tamil Nadu was “apparent”. He shared that while the movie shows are already home until Sunday, people have already started booking tickets for Monday.

Monster, movie Monster, Song for Monster Vijay and Pooja Hegde on the Beast.

Beast is likely to attract filmmakers across India. Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi said: “In the North, a new trend could start and push the dock in terms of gaining the trust of a whole new audience. There has also been good PR with Varun Dhawan releasing the Hindi trailer and Shah Rukh Khan praising and congratulating film director Nelson Dilipkumar and actor Vijay. The trailer and soundtrack were great. It’s only a matter of time before the film is widely shown. “

Given the popularity of Vijay in Tamil Nadu and the madness of Yash in Karnataka, Beast and KGF 2 will face a “huge clash” in their respective states. But in the Hindi zone, KGF 2 will find more players, said Taran Adarsh.

KGF: Chapter 1 was a hit that got worshiped over time. But now the madness is such that film trade experts are considering the possibility of giving tough competition to the superhit Baahubali franchise of SS Rajamouli. “We can not yet say that he can beat Baahubali, but the madness is unprecedented,” said Girish Johar.

Johar also added that although Beast is a popular title in the South, KGF has the upper hand due to its resonance in India. “The Beast has a great trend to the south, but it will be a little behind KGF 2,” he said. KGF 2 is expected to hit 3000-3500 screens in the Hindi zone itself. While Johar has predicted that the film will earn 35 crore on the opening day, Rathi believes that he will earn 30 crore only in the Hindi band.

Taran Adarsh is almost certain that “the sky is the limit” for KGF 2 and “should compete with the highest”. He said, “I will not be surprised if he drops some records.”

While Beast is coming out in theaters on April 13, KGF: Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on April 14 in Telugu, Canada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
